ANNUAL SLOTS 

1 slot per annum. 1 candidate per slot 

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES/LEARNING OUTCOMES 

At the end of the training program, it is expected that the candidate should be able to function independently and take full responsibility for the management of paediatric ophthalmology cases  

CORE MODULES 

Module 1: 4 months (Management of Paediatric Cataract, Glaucoma and other anterior segment disorders such as nasolacrimal duct obstruction and lid disorders.)                                                      
 
Module2: 3 months (Paediatric & Adult Strabismus).                    
 
Module3: 3 months (Retinoblastoma).                                         
 
Module4: 2 months (Retinopathy of Prematurity and other retinal diseases) 

WHO CAN APPLY 

The applicant: 
Should have successfully completed an ophthalmology residency training in a recognised training institution. 
 
Can be qualified consultant ophthalmologists

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS 

Candidate must be a fellow of FWACS or FMCOph or MWACS or DO FNPMC, ICO  , or its equivalent in country of origin 
 
All Foreign nationals are required to obtain a temporary registration of license with the Medical & Dental Council of Nigeria 
                                  
Should have performed at least 150 adult cataract surgeries preferably with small incision cataract surgery.
